In a bid to further enhance the capabilities and creative thinking of children, Taawon in collaboration with Save the Children-Palestine and with the support of Bank of Palestine and the Hajj Hashem Atta Al-Shawa Charitable Endowment Fund, held the Wajd Students Hackathon. The three-day event saw the participation of 40 preparatory school students from Wajd program beneficiaries, who were given the opportunity to explore new ideas and solutions in various areas such as health, education, agriculture, security, and transportation. The Hackathon aims to foster a digital learning environment that fosters brainstorming and development of innovative, practical projects to address societal issues.

During the Hackathon, more than 15 mentors with diverse backgrounds provided guidance and support to the students. Twenty project ideas were presented, of which seven were selected for further development during the hackathon. These innovative projects will be showcased at the Wajd Innovative Technology Exhibition by the end of August, marking a priceless opportunity for students to apply their Artificial Intelligence training to create smart apps and solutions.
