Helping healing hands: Dr. Khaled Dimyati

Dr. Khalid Dimyati is the first of our Zamalah Fellows to return home from a successful research-training visit abroad. The visit allowed him to complete a liver transplant training course at one of the world’s most advanced liver transplant  facilities: the Apollo Hospital in New Delhi, India. Dr. Dimyati got the opportunity to participate in liver transplant surgery for infants and conducted a joint research project on a new technique to assist the restoration of blood supply after surgery. He also visited India’s Madanta Institute of Liver Diseases and Transplantation. Dr. Dimyati is actively making use of his enriched  knowledge and  acquired skills  in his capacity as Chairman of the Surgery Department at Al Najah University Hospital.

“The fellowship program provides immense exposure that is necessary for the development of scientific research in Palestinian universities.” Dr. Khaled Dimyati
