Taawon participated in the Humanitarian and Development Forum for Palestine “Together We Make Hope” in Doha on 8th March 2017. 

 

Dr. Tafeeda Jarbawi, Taawon Director General, delivered a speech during the first session, dedicated to the reality of development and humanitarian work in Palestine. Dr. Jarbawi’s presentation highlighted the efforts exerted in these areas by Taawon. 

 

During, the three-day forum, members of Taawon team participated in a number of the forum sessions, and showcased specific interventions such as Bridge Palestine education program dedicated to helping highschool students apply and enroll in worldclass universities.

 

On social care sector, Taawon also highlighted its Wajd Program which seeks to empower2139 children and youths who lost their parents in the Israeli assault on Gaza in the summer of 2014 so they can live in dignity, achieve their ambitions and become active members of their community.

 

The program provides support for the orphans and their families until the age of 22. Taawon initiated the program with main funding from Qatar Development Fund, and platinum sponsorship of Bank of Palestine and the Haj Hashim A’atah Al-Shawa Fund.
