On 23 May 2007, Dr. Michael Linhart, Managing Director of the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), visited Welfare Association during his trip to the Palestinian Territories. Dr. Linhart was accompanied by Mr. Oscar Wuestinger, the Austrian Representative to the Palestinian Authority.

After meeting with the Director of Resources and Development and the Director of Program Operations at Welfare Association, Dr. Linhart visited a number of projects funded by the Austrian Development Agency and implemented by Welfare Association. The Austrian Delegation visited the Women’s Center in Shufat Refugee Camp where a cancer public awareness project is being implemented. Following the visit to Shufat Refugee Camp, Dr. Linhart also visited Budrus, a small village to the west of Ramallah City where he inaugurated another project funded by the Austrian Development Agency, a sewing training center for women.

Dr. Linhart concluded his visit by witnessing the signing of a grant agreement, funded by the ADA, between Welfare Association and a local cooperative in Tubas governorate.
