Dr. Kuttab Attends Conference Held in Dead Sea- Jordan

Dr. Attallah Kuttab, Director General of the Welfare Association attended the ‘Building Public Private Partnerships to Enhance Social and Economic Progress’ conference held under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah, at Moven Pick Hotel Dead Sea, Jordan- from February 6-7, 2007 .

The two-day conference which was organized in coordination between Dead Sea Institute and Vital Voices, brought together a select group of leading business, civil society and government representatives from Jordan with experts from the United States, Canada, Europe and the region to share best practices of partnership models that address social and economic issues. Top international and Jordanian experts discussed topics such as why business should be engaged in promoting social and economic progress, the government’s role in supporting public-private partnerships, benefits to the workforce, and best practices in the field.

Dr. Kuttab presented the Palestinian case highlighting corporate social responsibility and the importance of private sector in providing support to the Palestinian development. He stressed that fact that Welfare Association is playing a vital role in drawing on the extensive resources of Palestinians in the Diaspora and to direct those resources for the maximum support of the Palestinian society.
