Date:
31-01-2007

The generous support of Bahraini people to the Palestinians through the Bahraini Chamber of Commerce and Industry made Bahrain Children’s Hospital a reality. The 45-bed hospital is located in Ramallah between the existing Kuwaiti Hospital and Shaikh Zayed Hospital and is considered the first of its kind in Palestine.

Welfare Association is managing the implementation of the $5 million project which started in 2005 and is expected to be ready in the summer of 2007. The project fundraising is being spearheaded by the Bahraini Chamber’s Support Committee for the Palestinian People to cover construction as well as running costs for the first three years.

The project is expected to have significant impact on the quality of health care for children in Palestine and will develop the pediatric health services.

The four storey Bahrain Children’s Hospital will occupy an area of 3139 square meters and will comprise a wide range of diagnostic and treatment services including clinical laboratories, imaging, emergency rooms, and surgery in a child friendly environment.
