Atfaluna Society for Deaf Children (ASDC) Completed Vocational Training Course for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Youth in the Gaza Strip

Atfaluna Society for
Deaf Children (ASDC) in Gaza City has successfully accomplished a large
quantity food production training course for deaf and hard of hearing youth
within the activities of the project entitled “Vocational Training and Job
Creation project”,
a 11-month project generously funded by Mr. Ihsan Abu Ghazalah,
through the support of the Welfare Association.

The 168-hour training course was
implemented at Atfaluna Society for Deaf Children during the period from 01
December 2013 to 27 February 2014 for a 12 deaf and hard of hearing youth at
the aim of empowering them to become knowledgeable, self-reliant, and provide
them with the skills to enter the job market and find gainful employment, thus
improving their quality of life as well as having a positive impact on their
communities.

Worth noting that trainees will
be provided with paid  practical training
in  food production factories and
restaurants in the Gaza Strip, in addition to potential employment
opportunities upon the end of the  practical training period.

From his part, Fares Al Masri,
Public Relations Manager at Al-Mashtal Restaurant, explained his commitment to
cooperate with Atfaluna Society to support the deaf trainees training and job
opportunities.  He stated: “we believe
that the deaf youth are able to demonstrate the willingness and ability

creativity in the food production field.”
