Extend a helping hand to refugees and marginalized patients at the East Jerusalem Hospitals
“I dream of becoming a teacher to instill values of patience, faith and strength in future generations” -- Amani, 9-year-old girl from the village of Beit Iksa near Ramallah, West Bank
For the last 3 years, Amani has been suffering from renal failure and is undergoing treatment in the dialysis unit at the Augusta Victoria Hospital in Jerusalem three times a week; the only hospital providing pediatric dialysis medical care in her area. Amani has many aspirations; the largest is to regain her normal life.
Help Amani and other children to continue receiving specialized treatment at the six Jerusalem hospitals.
The recent decision by the Trump administration to cut the United States’ aid to UNRWA operations by $350 million, with an additional cut of $25 million that were earmarked to support the East Jerusalem Hospitals Network, has serious ramifications on the lives and livelihoods of marginalized and refugee Palestinians.
Taawon is launching this appeal to its generous supporters to urgently contribute to supporting the hospitals to enable their continued provision of tertiary medical services to marginalized and uninsured Palestinians, to meet the Israeli re-licensure requirements and to support UNRWA to ensure the continuation of educational services to Palestinian refugees.
