As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, Gaza strip is still facing harsh humanitarian conditions resulting from the continued siege for the 15th year. In light of the latest attack, thousands of affected families in Gaza suffered tremendous destruction, from the loss of their income sources to the demolition of their homes. Until now, up to 85% of these families are still unable to sustain themselves financially.
In response to these dire conditions, Taawon continues to implement its humanitarian intervention within a developmental approach. We will purchase fresh produce from the local small farmers to provide to the affected people in Gaza as part of a weekly fresh food package over the period of 5 weeks.
Your generous contribution last Ramadan, which coincided with the latest attack on Gaza, has left a great impact. Together, we were able to provide for over 8,000 families, and support around 600 small farmers to enhance their steadfastness, as well as providing over 3,000 workdays to unemployed workers and therefore contributing to support the local economy.
Through your generosity, Taawon aims to help 3,000 families in Gaza, and support 300 local farmers.
